Mobile dental care means dental treatment is provided at the patient's residence or aged care facility using portable dental equipment. This allows patients who may have difficulty travelling to a dental clinic to receive professional oral health care in a comfortable and familiar environment.

Mobile dental care is particularly helpful for:

• residents of aged care facilities
• elderly patients with mobility challenges
• people with medical conditions that make travel difficult
• people with dental anxiety preventing them from attending dental appointments
• patients who prefer the convenience of dental care at home

Kind Smiles Mobile Dental can provide a range of dental services including:

• oral examinations (dental checkup)
• professional cleaning and calculus removal
• fluoride treatments
• silver fluoride treatment for decay management 
• fillings
• oral health assessments and care plans
• preventive advice for patients and carers

Some complex treatments may require referral to a dental clinic such as extractions and denture work

 We provide fillings for small chips, minor breaks, and sharp or rough tooth edges to improve comfort and appearance. Larger or more complex restorations are referred to a traditional dental office. 

 To ensure the highest level of safety and comfort, dental extractions are performed in a fully equipped clinical setting. We’re happy to coordinate referrals when extractions are needed. 

 Payment is due in full at the time of service.  An itemised invoice is provided so patients may submit a claim directly to their health insurance fund. 

 Yes. We accept eligible DVA patients in line with Department of Veterans’ Affairs arrangements 

 A quiet, well-lit room with enough space for a portable dental chair and equipment. We use the state-of-the-art NSK Viva Ace dental unit which is compact enough to complete treatment bed-side. The patient is welcome to stay in their bed or favourite chair. Wherever they are most comfortable

We follow strict infection control procedures in accordance with the Dental Board of Australia  and Australian infection control guidelines. Infection control procedures also follow the Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Infection in Healthcare (NHMRC).

All dental instruments are cleaned, sterilised and packaged using a compliant dental sterilisation process before each appointment. Sterilised instruments remain sealed until they are opened at the time of treatment. 

Single-use items are used wherever appropriate, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks and protective eyewear are worn during treatment.

Portable equipment and treatment surfaces are cleaned and disinfected between every patient to maintain a safe clinical environment.

Yes. Kind Smiles Mobile Dental regularly provides dental care to aged care facilities across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter region

We can work with facility staff to arrange visits and help support residents' oral health needs. 

We primarily focus on providing dental care for aged care residents and adults who have difficulty attending a dental clinic.

In some situations, home visits may also be available for other patients who require treatment at home. Please contact us to discuss whether mobile dental care may be suitable
